PodCorps.org is an all-volunteer team of audio/video producers who record and publish important spoken-word events anywhere in the world. PodCorps.org is a new project of The Conversations Network.
Visit our support/discussion forum. That's the best place to communicate directly with other stringers, event producers and the PodCorps.org team. Try a search for your topic before posting a new topic. Your question may already have been answered there.
Once you register, just go to our Event Search page.
PodCorps.org is brand new and we're still in the chicken-and-egg stage. Once we have a large number of stringers covering every corner of the planet, we'll attract more events -- including many near you. In the meantime, if you know of important spoken-word events near you, encourage them to register.
No, there are PodCorps.org stringers who record audio and video.
Typically nothing, although this is entirely negotiable between event producers and stringers. Some of stringers may need help covering certain expenses.
It could be anywhere. Some events have their own web sites, and will want the media files on their servers. But most PodCorps.org stringers post their completed programs to the Internet Archive where they will be preserved and made available for free to everyone.
The Conversations Network (a 501(c)(3) California non-profit corporation) captures presentations, processes the recordings, and publishes them online for free under Creative Commons Sampling License. In addition to PodCorps.org (the grass-roots side of The Conversations Network) we also produce curated channels such as Social Innovation Conversations.
